Description

A yummy way to boost milk production, this Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Oatmeal is a delicious and healthy way to start off your day. It's like eating dessert for breakfast!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milled flax seed
  • 1-2 teaspoons brewer's yeast (optional, but really helps with milk production)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped (or your choice of chopped nuts, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the milk, cinnamon and nutmeg to a boil.
  2. Add the oats, brown sugar, flax seed and brewer's yeast (if using); stir well. Return to a boil; reduce heat to medium. Cook 3-5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in vanilla, raisins, and pecans. Let stand until desired consistency. Top with additional milk or brown sugar, as desired.
