Description

This 4 ingredient Peppermint Hot Cocoa has a secret ingredient that makes it thick and creamy…and healthier than traditional homemade hot cocoa! It’s sure to hit the spot on a chilly winter day!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or I used siggi’s yogurt)
  • 5 oz. dark chocolate (I used Ghirardelli dark chocoalte wafers)
  • 2 drops peppermint oil (can substitute ~1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the milk and yogurt. Stir frequently until almost simmering, approximately 15-20 minutes.
  2. Add the dark chocolate and peppermint oil. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is combined. Remove from heat.
  3. Pour or ladle the hot chocolate into mugs. Garnish with a candy cane and marshmallows. Serve immediately.
