The Inside Scoop:
Exciting news: this past week we welcomed a new member of our family! No, I didn’t have my baby (he better stay in there for a while longer). We got a new car!
With the impending arrival of our new little one, we knew we’d be needing a bigger vehicle. Kids and all their gear take up so much space in a car! Who knew someone so small required so much?! It’s like a traveling circus just to go anywhere sometimes. So now we are poor but at least we’ll all fit in one vehicle as a family once the new little one does arrive. 🙂
In the nutrition blogging world a lot of great articles and recipes have arrived on the scene! I love reading credible nutrition information online from other RDN bloggers – then trying some of their great recipes! It never disappoints. Here are some of my favorite from the past week. Check ’em out and show them some link love!
Oh, and have a Happy Halloween!

Mindful Eating 101 & What You Really Need to Know via Corrine Dobbas. (I LOVE this post! I wrote a little bit about mindless eating a while back. Food Shaming 2.0 via Rust Nutrition and The facts on processed meat, red meat and cancer via The Debunking Dietitian. 28 Life Lessons Everyone Should Know via Shaw’s Simple Swaps. (OK, so this isn’t directly related to nutrition, but it is to health. Liz shares this fun list of life lessons she’s learned and I think we can all relate to at least some of them on her list!)
Good Eats:

Creamy Mexican Chicken Chili Soup Recipe via Fannetastic Food. (Anne had me at creamy. I love creamy soups, but unfortunately they are often times less healthy than broth-based soups. I was pleasantly surprised by the secret creamy ingredient in this recipe. Hint: it’s not cream! I can’t wait to try it out!)
How to Make Popcorn on the Stove Top: Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Popcorn via Healthy Ideas Place. (If you want to be in control of what goes on or into your popcorn you need to read this! A great tutorial and recipe to go along!)

Healthy Asian Salmon Sticks via Chocolate Slopes. (An excellent source of healthy fats and great weeknight meal that’s kid-approved? You’ve got my vote! As I’m trying to add more fish into my diet, this recipe looks like it will hit the spot!)
