Make your own Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice in less than 5 minutes! With only 5 ingredients, this simple spice mix is ready to be used in your favorite fall recipes!
The other day I was making some pumpkin muffins because – well, fall. It’s not officially fall until something pumpkin is made, right? Anyway, I started putting all the ingredients together when I realized I was out of pumpkin pie spice! Gasp! You can’t make pumpkin muffins without all the yummy fall spices that go into it!
I started rummaging through my spice cupboard to find other fall spices that would compensate for my lack of pumpkin pie spice. I rounded up 5 spices that are usually found in pumpkin pie spice and sprinkled them into my muffin batter. And guess what? They turned out just as delicious and pumpkin pie spice-y as ever.
After that almost baking mishap, I got to thinking – if I don’t want that to happen again, I need to get some more pumpkin pie spice ASAP! Well, what’s quicker than making it right then and there in my kitchen? I certainly couldn’t make a trip to the store and back in under 5 minutes. Plus, I already had all the makings for homemade pumpkin pie spice, so why not use what I already have? No wasting spices and no spending more money. It was decided.
All you need for this is 5 ingredients and a small container to store it all in – that’s it! I used an old spice container and just took the label off. In less than 5 minutes you can have homemade pumpkin pie spice in your cupboard ready to use at a moment’s notice!
