The Inside Scoop:
Last week I missed posting for Link Love because my little man had his adenoids and tonsils removed (second time for the adenoids, but that’s a whole other story…). We spent the time with him in the hospital and recovering at home. This past week he has loved having Grandma at our house to watch him and play with him as he continues to recover. (Thanks, Robyn!)
Because of my missing last week, I am combining some of the posts I loved for last week AND this week – so there is more to browse through! Check out the links below and show them some love!
Worth Reading:
What Does ‘Eating in Moderation’ Really Mean? via Toby Amidor for U.S. News and World Report. (I use the term “everything in moderation” a lot. Toby explores what exactly this means and how it can be beneficial. Something definitely worth reading!)
My Family’s Processed Food Diet via The Candid RD. (In this post, registered dietitian Gina talks about processed foods and how she and her family eat a healthy processed foods diet. She even shares some great (healthy) recipes, too!)
Frozen Foods: Convenient and Healthy via Real Living Nutrition Services. (I love this post because it dispels the myth that all frozen foods are bad for you…not true! There are healthy frozen foods out there – go read the post to see what to look for!)
Talking About Nutrition to Tots via Jill Castle. (Jill shares some great info about positive and negative nutrition talk for kids and includes a free pdf download to help parents out!)
Why We No Longer Call Our Recipes “Healthy” via Spright. (There are so many “healthy” recipes out there, but is that really the case? This article discusses why they chose not to call their recipes healthy, and what they are doing instead.)
Worth Eating:
Italian Orzo Soup via Delish Knowledge. (First off, the pictures are beautiful! Who wouldn’t want to eat this soup after looking at it? Second, I love the ratio of pasta to veggies, making this a very nutritious meal. Healthy comfort food…it doesn’t get better than this!)
Healthy Frosted Oatmeal Cookies via The Baking Dietitian (One word: YUM! This healthier version of the classic look delicious! Plus, there’s a secret ingredient in the frosting!)
Healthy Pumpkin Chocolate Muffins via Jenna Braddock. (Muffins + Pumkin + Chocolate = heaven! Go make these now!)
Garden Stuffed Sweet Peppers via Craving Something Healthy. (This colorful recipe is a veggie packed meal that can be easily frozen and saved for later. Plus, there are tips on how to make and store freezer meals!)
Healthy and Homemade Hot Pockets via Holley Grainger. (Love how easy and convenient hot pockets are, but not the high fat, sodium and calories that often come with them? Then you HAVE to make this recipe – it is easier than I thought to make your own hot pockets at home. Put them in the freezer like regular hot pockets and pull ’em out and heat them when you need to!)
