This is a total breakfast win. It is also a total husband-type breakfast. My hubby loves about anything with bread and cheese. Put it in a casserole dish and it’s guaranteed to disappear as quickly as I can get it on the table. But who am I kidding, I love bread and cheese, too! Seriously, just look at that bread and eggs smothered with cheese…
If you are a cheese fan like my family is, you know the need for a good quality cheese. Not only that, but a good quality cheese made right here in the good old U.S. of A. Today I’m talking about cheese made from Real California Milk. That’s right. Did you know California is the country’s leading producer of milk, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk and whey protein concentrate?! It is also the second largest producer of cheese and yogurt. Now that’s a lot of dairy!
Make sure when purchasing dairy foods to look for products made with 100% Real California Milk that feature the Real California Milk or Cheese seal, like this:
One more really cool tid-bit about Real California Milk is that 99% of California dairies are family-owned, a tradition. I love knowing that when I buy Real California Dairy products, I am supporting family-owned dairy farms. Coming from a small community and knowing several farmers myself, I know what it means to support local agriculture. When you see the Real California seal, you too can feel good knowing that the product is certified as having been made with 100% Real California Milk from Real California Dairy families.
The Real California cheese on this Ham and Cheesy Breakfast Strata really makes the dish. The roll halves on top are nice and crispy while the rolls on bottom are soaked in the egg and milk mixture to give you a breakfast taste and texture you’ll love. Everything else in between the layers adds that extra dimension of flavor and savoriness to finish it off perfectly.
Make morning breakfast prep a snap with this Overnight Ham and Cheesy Breakfast Strata Share on XOne important note about this recipe is that it needs to sit overnight in the refrigerator. The prep the night before is pretty simple – just slice the rolls in half, chop up your veggies and ham, whisk the eggs and milk, put it all in the casserole dish and cover it with plastic wrap. With all the prep work done the night before, the morning is a snap. Just take it out of the fridge and pop it in the oven and your set! The last 15 minutes of baking, add the remaining cheese on top and wait for the buzzer to ring! Ham and Cheesy goodness at your fingertips. 🙂
