Is it just me or does the winter time sometimes make you feel like you need something to help protect you from all the colds, coughs and sickness that abound this time of year? If I could, I would walk around with a bubble so as to prevent me from getting sick. Okay, maybe that’s not very realistic, but I do NOT like getting sick. Plus, being a busy mom of two young boys I have no time for a sick day.
Good thing there is a more realistic way to defend and protect me from all the germs and bugs trying to get at me: immune boosting foods. I always recommend getting in nutrition and such in foods over pills and supplements. That’s why I created this Immune Boosting Wild Blueberry Beet Smoothie. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup 100% orange juice
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1/2 medium banana
- 1/2 cup chopped beets
- 1 cup frozen Wild Blueberries
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a blender in the order listed.
- Blend for 60 seconds or until the ingredients are all pureed and it reaches a smoothie consistency.
- Pour into two glasses. Enjoy immediately.
